Photo History of Diamond Club Field

The Diamond Club was established in 1994 by Orvin Kiser Sr., during that time a sandlot has been turned into one of the premiere baseball fields in our area. The playing surface is lit, and in 2005 we constructed a new concession stand that houses the press box and restrooms. The Club worked hard in 2009 and  have installed safety netting and extension poles, refurbished our dugouts, and installed a warning track around the perimeter of the field.

The Rockingham County League, Diamondbacks call the Diamond Club field home, as well as three Stuarts Draft Babe Ruth teams. Next to the Major Leagues, the RCBL is the second oldest continuous running baseball league in our nation. For more league information and history, you may visit RCBLonline.com. Our average attendance through the year 2009 is approximately 175 spectators per game. However, during the playoffs that number rises to 300 or more. We are headed into our 6th season and each year has become more successful for us. This year the Diamondbacks went to the championship game, and our attendance vvas at an all time high. We depend on community support and volunteers to help us provide the quality baseball that families have come to appreciate here in Stuarts Draft. The Diamond Club is a 501 (C) 3 corporation, and as such all donations are tax deductible.

The Diamondbacks came into existance in 2005 when the former Fisherville Rangers were obtained from Lynn Wease who formed the Fishersville club in 1996.
In 1996 when Lynn  formed the club they were known as the Fishersville Cardinals and were the Cardinals until 2000 when they became the Fishersville Rangers.

The 2004 RCBL 80th Anniversary program states  "The Fishersville Rangers of Augusta County playing at the Woodrow Wilson School Grounds under the management of Lynn Wease. In the past 8 seasons in the League, the Rangers have been one of the most competitive teams within the League. In 1996 they were a 6th place team. By 2000, they advanced to the top of the League and took notice by all other clubs in the League. They placed 2nd in the standings with a 17-7 record. They beat out Bridgewater in the semi-finals 3 games to a, but lost to Linville by 4 games to 3. The following season, they captured their first pennant with an 18 and 6 record. They went on to defeat Elkton 3 games to 1 in the semi-fimls. They went on to win the series 4 games to 1 over Linville. The following season they won the pennant with a 21 and 7 record. They won in the quarter finals, but lost to Elkton in the semi-finals. In 2003, the team lost most of its top ball players to the Valley League and were unable to replace the losses. They fell to 6th spot. This coming season is a rebuilding year and Mgr. Lynn Wease hopes to get back into the thick of the race on its 80th anniversary"
